Standheld vs Scanovus vs Lissaire vs Aironox vs Bellairon: Which Automatic Ironing Machine?

22 October 2026 · 8 min read

Person inspecting three dress shirts before comparing appliance brands

Standheld wrote this comparison and sells one of the machines in it. Details of other brands come from their own websites and from retailers, checked on 22 October 2026. Prices and specifications change, so check them before you buy. This is not an independent test.

Key takeaways

  • Scanovus, Lissaire, Aironox, Bellairon and Standheld all sell the same type of machine: an inflatable shirt form, warm air, around 8 to 12 minutes per shirt (Lissaire quotes 10 to 20).
  • Listed power ranges from 1250 W (Standheld, Lissaire, Bellairon) to 1400 W (Aironox, Scanovus EU page); Scanovus’s 110–120 V US version lists 1200 W. Most quote the same cycle times.
  • The differences that matter are the bundle (trousers, shoes, clips, atomiser), the guarantee terms and whether the brand delivers to the UK.
  • For shirts, trousers and shoes with everything in the box, the Standheld Complete Set costs £159.90 with free UK delivery.

If you have scrolled past an advert for an automatic ironing machine lately, it was probably one of these: Scanovus, Lissaire, Aironox or Bellairon. They look alike because they are alike. All of them, and Standheld, sell a machine where a damp shirt goes onto an inflatable form and warm air dries and smooths it from the inside. So the useful question is not which one "works", but what each brand gives you for the money, and what happens if you want to send it back.

Here is what each brand states on its own website, checked on 22 October 2026.

Power: 1250 W or 1400 W?

It is tempting to read the watts as speed. In practice the figure covers the fan and the heater, and the heater cycles on and off to hold the temperature you set; it cannot go above the highest setting just because it is rated higher. That is why most brands, rated 1250 W or 1400 W, quote the same 8 to 12 minutes per shirt (Lissaire, at 1250 W, quotes 10 to 20). What changes the time is how wet the shirt is and how heavy the fabric is. A shirt straight from a fast spin dries quicker than one that dripped.

So power is worth a glance, not a decision. If one brand lists 1400 W and another 1250 W, compare the bundle instead.

What you actually get in the box

This is where the brands really differ. If you want to do shirts, trousers and shoes:

  • Standheld Complete Set, £159.90: machine, shirt form to 3XL, trouser attachment, shoe-drying stand, Hem Anchors and Atomiser. Nothing else to add.
  • Aironox Everyday, $179.99: machine with shirt, trouser and shoe options. Clips cost $4.99 extra and there is no spray bottle.
  • Lissaire Wardrobe Press: machine with shirt, trouser and shoe attachments, 4 weighted clips and 4 laundry clips. The spray bottle is £14.94 extra, and a dress attachment £29.90.
  • Scanovus 4.0, $220 in the US: machine with shirt form and shoe-drying stand. The atomiser ($20) and a dress function ($40) are extras; a trouser attachment is not listed in the box.
  • Bellairon, $189: trouser accessory and a shoe/hat accessory, but only for North America.

The spray bottle sounds minor until you need it. These machines work on damp fabric, so a shirt that has already dried needs an even mist before it goes on. Having one in the box saves another order.

Guarantee and returns: read the small print

Every brand here offers some way back if the machine is not for you, but the terms vary:

  • Lissaire gives 60 days, the longest window. The buyer pays return shipping and any import taxes, and the refund can be up to 25% lower if the original box is missing or badly damaged.
  • Aironox mentions 30 days to try at home in one place and a 60-day money-back guarantee "where your order includes it" in its FAQ.
  • Scanovus offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee; returns go back in the original packaging, and on its US page return shipping and customs fees are the customer's responsibility.
  • Bellairon accepts returns of unused items within 15 days and covers products with a 1-year warranty.
  • Standheld gives 30 days from delivery to decide; return postage is paid by the customer. Your legal rights for faulty goods always apply.

Whichever you pick, keep the box until the window has closed. It makes any return simpler.

Delivery to the UK

For a UK household, where the machine ships from and which plug it has matter as much as the price. Standheld ships free within the UK in 3 to 10 working days with a UK plug. Aironox says it ships worldwide with no import fees and lists 220–240 V versions. Lissaire shows prices in pounds, but its delivery information refers to US shipping, and its returns page mentions import taxes, so check where your order would come from. Bellairon does not currently sell outside North America.

What the reviews say about all of them

Read reviews across these brands and the same points come up, good and bad, because the machines work the same way. People like the time saved and wrinkle-free everyday shirts. The recurring criticisms are that the finish is not as crisp as a hand iron, that collars and sleeves sometimes need a touch-up, that the garment must be damp, and that results depend on getting dampness, temperature and time right. None of these is brand-specific, so do not expect one brand to be immune. Our article on collars, cuffs, noise and cotton explains how to get the best finish.

Our verdict

If you saw one of these brands in an advert and liked the idea, you are choosing a bundle, a price and a set of terms, not a different technology. For a UK home that wants shirts, trousers and shoes covered from day one, the Standheld Complete Set gives you every piece in the box for £159.90, delivered free in the UK. If you only iron shirts, the Shirt Set at £129.90 is the cheaper way in. And if you are comparing with the cheaper shirt ironers on Amazon and in shops, read our comparison with Cleanmaxx, Clatronic and Klarstein.

Frequently asked questions

Is Standheld the same as Scanovus?

No, they are different companies selling the same type of machine: an inflatable shirt form dried with warm air. What you get in the box, the price, the guarantee and delivery differ, and that is what this comparison sets out.

Is Lissaire worth it?

Lissaire offers the longest return window we found, 60 days, though the buyer pays return postage and refunds can be up to 25% lower without the original box. Its Wardrobe Press set includes trouser and shoe attachments. It quotes 10 to 20 minutes per shirt. Compare the total price of the set you need, including the spray bottle (£14.94 extra).

Does Aironox deliver to the UK?

Aironox says it ships worldwide with tracked delivery and no import fees, and lists 220–240 V versions for the UK and EU. Its prices are shown in US dollars, from $159.99 for the machine with a shirt attachment.

Can I buy Bellairon in the UK?

Bellairon’s FAQ says it is available in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Its machine is listed at 120 V.

Which has the best guarantee?

On paper, Lissaire’s 60 days is the longest return window and Bellairon offers a 1-year warranty (in North America). Standheld, Scanovus and Aironox give 30 days to decide. In the UK your legal rights for faulty goods apply on top of any of these.
